'The care and love shown to my mother over the last year has been wonderful. We cannot praise and thank you enough. You have a home and staff to be proud of.'
L. Smith, Barnsley

Edlington Park

'The staff have been wonderful, not only caring for my mother, but for me also. I could not have coped without all the support. Everyone was so good in their own way. I am sure the staff are aware of my gratitude but I feel the need to let management know as well.'
A. Potter

'The staff could not have been more helpful, going out of their way and doing everything to assist us. They displayed sincere empathy and have been really gentle with us, especially Mum.'
L. Mincher, Doncaster

Dunniwood Lodge

'The Manager has been so kind and understanding over the last year both to my mother and me. The staff are lovely. My mother’s room is kept beautifully clean and her laundry comes back in lovely condition. The Seniors are meticulous in administering my mother’s eye drops. The kitchen staff go to a great deal of trouble to ensure she is given variety in her menu, they take time with this and she enjoys her food very much. It is so well presented. Everyone is helpful and kind, long may it continue. You are very fortunate to have such a home.'
E Parsons, Nottingham

'My mother has for the last two or three years been in and out of your home for brief periods of respite and has now decided to move in on a permanent basis. As a Senior Nurse I am aware of the variable standard of care in nursing and residential homes. Quite simply, I have never been into a care home with such high standards.

The quality of furnishings, décor, general maintenance and appearance is impressive. My mother has chosen a large room and the manageress has had it redecorated, put up new curtains and ordered a new carpet.

When I visited the kitchen one day to thank the cook for her hard work, she commented to me that this home was the best place she had worked in for food quality. A lot of homes use cheaper cuts such as mince but this is not the case here and Cook gave me the impression she is quite proud of the standard of the meals she is able to provide. My mother praises the food quality, the choice and the flexibility.

The nursing staff are delightful and hard-working. Mum has commented more than once not only on the outward excellence of staff but also on hearing them with others out of general earshot never raising their voices even when the situation has perhaps been difficult. It is nice to see the vulnerability of elderly people being respected

The Manageress is always professional, always accessible and she is always willing to sort out any glitches or problems as they arise. She is certainly maintaining high standards. I think she is oing a very fine job.'
G. Bowie, Huddersfield

'While Mum was at your home I was on first name terms with most of your carers and regarded all of them as personal friends. From failed driving tests to first grandchildren their personal lives became a part of my life and I will always be grateful for their humour, warmth and compassion. The level of care at your home is second to none.'
C. Parrish, Doncaster

The Willows

'Thank you so much Helen and the team for giving so much love, pleasure, security and reassurance to so many people. Everyone must have worked both in and out of hours to put on such a fantastic Christmas Party for the residents and their families. Such a good, friendly, fun, efficient party enjoyed by all and the raffle prizes seemed to have no end to them. The level of care given shows that this is not just a job.'
G.K. Wells, Bridgnorth

Birchlands

'Mum has told us on numerous occasions that we could not have chosen a better home. To quote her: “Everyone treats me as a person and that means so much to me”. Mum and all her family appreciated the warm, friendly and professional approach of every single member of staff and the excellent care that she received.
J. Anderson, Haxby

'I know my mother’s time with you was spent comfortably and peacefully. Indeed, everyone who visited her was hugely impressed by the obvious care and devotion all your staff displayed. This in turn was a great comfort to my wife and I especially given the distance we are away. Many thanks also for keeping us appraised.'
S. Thompson, Southampton

'Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, like sometimes they would just have changed Mam and all her bedding, they would then give her a cup of tea – sometimes Mam would miss her table and spill it all over the bed – the staff were straight there to change everything again.

When Mam wouldn’t eat I know the staff would coax her with anything she wanted and they would get it for her – and sometimes the girls would take her on their break with them, she loved that.

My Mam didn’t want to go into a home but we know and she told us later that it was a home from home for her and it was her extended family.

It takes special people to care for residents and their families. We will always praise your home and will miss your staff, they were like an extended family for my sister and I too.'
M. Robb, York

Longlands

'Thank you so much for all the help, support and care your staff have given over the past 2 years. You treated my Mum with love, care and affection. Nothing was too much. Your sense of humour, fun and bright cheery outlook I am sure made her days interesting. The way you involved her and talked about your families kept her interested in what was going on around her.'
Pam

'The care our Nana received was first class. When we visited Nana we were always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from staff. I am a Nurse and I’ve visited many care homes and can honestly say yours is at the top! I couldn’t have wished for a better place for Nana to spend her latter years. '
