Respite care

"It's very important for people being cared for by family or friends and their carers to have a break so that both can have a rest" says the Manager of Valley Park.

It could be two weeks every six months or just a day’s stay for the treatment of a wound – or perhaps a month – no matter how long, the time away from one another is very valuable for everyone.

Taking respite time at a Mimosa home re-charges the batteries of carer and the person cared-for. Many people come to us and tell us they think of it like a holiday. We do our best to make sure they continue to feel that way.

There are other times when something quite dramatic may have happened in the family, possibly a crisis of sorts, and we are here and able to help by offering excellent care and accommodation at those times.

Respite care is an important aspect of our home and we very much enjoy caring for our "holiday-makers".
