Parklands

Providing care for the elderly, especially those with dementia including younger early onset dementia, Parklands is a very special place. Residents are cared for by experienced general and psychiatric nursing staff, each with a specialist skill to offer, so we can meet the most demanding of physical and dementia-related needs.

The professional team at Parklands is well trained, enthusiastic and empathetic to all of the personal care needs a person may require. We are complemented by a social therapist, catering, housekeeping and maintenance staff who share our caring and sharing approach to residents.

‘Informality’, ‘friendliness’ and ‘openness’ are key words at Parklands. Our open attitude to the challenges faced by our residents and their relatives gives peace of mind to all and ensures the very best level of care possible.

We feel that the physical layout of Parklands is ideal for the people who live here. For example, the ground floor has a very large open-plan lounge with a full-length conservatory giving open views to the garden and the hills beyond. The dining area is also spacious and open-plan allowing full yet discreet observation which enhances both a sense of liberty and safety for our residents.

Our long, uncluttered corridors are ideal for those who wish to walk unrestricted for as long as they wish. Residents appreciate the naturally restful qualities of the garden which has plenty of seating, good observation points and is secure, level and easily accessed. Well furnished lounge with TV, DVD/Video and music system.

Our garden is secure, level and easily accessible with plenty of seating and good observation. Of course residents can also relax in the well-furnished lounge and watch TV, a video, DVD or listen to music. If someone wishes to remain within the privacy of their own room amongst their own possessions, this is respected and always accepted by staff.
