Middlesbrough Council Department of Social Care held its Dignity in Care Awards on 4 June. The event was held at Middlesbrough Conference Hall and attended by Councillor Barry Coppinger and The Mayor of Middlesbrough, Ray Mallon.
Mimosa's Area Support Manager Sharon Gatus was nominated for the award "Shown Dignity and Respect Through Person Centred Care" by Jenny Stubbs, Home Manager. Mimosa are delighted to announce that Sharon won this category, beating several other nominees. Jenny Stubbs (pictured with Sharon and Rachel Lowery from Roseleigh Care Home) said, "I am so proud of Sharon - she really deserved this award. The work that she does for the Dignity In Care campaign is remarkable". Sharon said, "I can't believe I have won! It's so nice to be recognised and I'd like to thank Jenny for nominating me!"
Mimosa Healthcare now has over 300 Dignity Champions in its care homes across England.
